Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy is the assessment and treatment of patients with injury, disease or a problem that relates to muscles, bones, joints and peripheral nerves.
Vestibular Physiotherapy
Vestibular Physiotherapy involves the comprehensive assessment and treatment of the vestibular system.
Women's Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
Women's Health Physiotherapy focuses on the assessment and treatment of conditions that can affect both your pelvis and pelvic floor muscles. Some of the conditions that we see most commonly in our clinic are bladder incontinence (stress, urge or mixed), prolapse symptoms, faecal leaking, pelvic pain and pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain.
Acupuncture
iPS offer 'Acupuncture for Pain Relief' and 'Specialist Acupuncture' for treatment of a wider range of medical conditions including Bell's palsy, migraine, menopause symptoms, allergies, complex pain conditions. If you are interested in trying acupuncture for symptoms other than musculoskeletal pain, please choose 'Specialist Acupuncture' with our Physiotherapist - Kim Eldridge.
Shockwave
Shock Wave Therapy is a non-invasive treatment option that stimulates the body's soft tissues to repair themselves, providing a natural healing process. It is particularly effective in the treatment of chronic soft tissue injuries including: plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, tennis elbow / golfer's elbow, patellar tendinopathy (jumper's/runner's knee), trochanteric bursitis/lateral hip pain and shin splints. iPS utilise the market leading Swiss Dolorclast Radial Shockwave device, which produces higher energy than any other machine. This treatment modality is highly evidence-based and recommended by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence.
Sports Massage Therapy
iPS have highly skliied and qualified Sports Massage Therapist, with degrees in Spoprts Rehabilitation. Our sports massage therapists utilise their skills to ease pain and aid recovery of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries.
Ms Jess Chong
Meet Jess Chong,
Jess qualified with a first class honors degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Wales College of Medicine.
Following graduation, Jess worked in Swansea Bay University Health board and Cwm Taff Morgannwg in a variety of roles including orthopaedics, medical, stroke, orthopaedics and community. Within the last few years she has specialised in neurological rehabilitation, with experience in an acute setting, in-patient rehab and enabling patients to return home through the early supported discharge team.
Jess joined the iPS Neurological Physiotherapy team in 2024. She quickly became an integral member of the team.
Jess works with patients with a wide variety of neurological conditions including stroke, MS, Spinal Cord Injury, and Traumatic Brain Injury and has a special interest in Parkinson’s disease. She has completed the world renowned course ‘PD Warriors’ and has set up a specialist group exercise service for individuals with Parkinson’s disease at our Cardiff Gate clinic.
Jess has a very gentle and quiet nature, with a lovely sense of humour. She quicky develops friendly and trusting rapport with patients.
Jess enjoys spending time with family and friends walking and cycling. She is very active and loves working hard in the gym in her spare time.

Mrs Millie Coleman
Meet Millie Coleman,
Millie has a wide range of experience working with musculoskeletal and pelvic health conditions. Her passion is in guiding people back to their previous levels of function.
Musculoskeletal and Women’s Health Physiotherapist Millie is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with a special interest in Women’s Health Physiotherapy. She is experienced in treating a variety of conditions including low back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse symptoms, pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain and post-natal rehabilitation. Millie is a licensed Mummy MOT practitioner.
Millie qualified from the University of the West of England with a degree in Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation in 2011. She spent three years working as an Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor with the military, helping soldiers in the British Army return to fitness in preparation for deployment.
Her love for rehabilitation led her to return to study Physiotherapy at the University of Southampton, completing her junior rotations in Southampton and South Wales before specialising as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in 2018. Since 2019, she has been a member of the Women’s Health Physiotherapy team for Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and has since joined the iPS team to contribute to both our Musculoskeletal and Women’s Health services.
Millie has experience in treating a variety of presentations, but she particularly enjoys working with ladies who present with a variety of Women’s Health presentations. Helping people work towards their goals is something that she does with both empathy and enthusiasm. Her background in sports rehabilitation means that she particularly enjoys helping people return to sporting activity or build up their activity levels after pregnancy.
Millie has completed the Mummy MOT practitioner training and offers Mummy MOT assessments and treatment based on the findings of the thorough assessment.
Millie spends her spare time enjoying and exploring the South Wales countryside with her husband and dogs and likes to keep fit with running and attending her local gym.

Mrs Liz Davies
Meet Liz Davies,
Liz qualified as a physiotherapist in 2004 from the University of Wales College of Medicine. She spent many years honing her knowledge and skills in the NHS before joining iPS full-time in 2018.
Liz plays a vital role in the running of iPS Vestibular, Aquatic (hydrotherapy) and Neurological Physiotherapy Services.
It is very difficult to specialise in 3 areas of physiotherapy at one time, but somehow Liz manages to do it perfectly well.
She is equally adept at assessing and treating patient with dizziness related to imbalance in their vestibular system, as she is in assessing and treating patients with a wide variety of neurological conditions (stroke, MS, Parkinson’s, spinal cord injury, brain injury) on land and in the hydrotherapy pools.
Liz’s relaxed and very approachable nature is much appreciated by her patients, she has a natural ability in making people feel reassured encouraged and at ease. Liz is a very caring and compassionate person, and this shines through when you meet her.
Liz values time spent with family and friends. When she isn’t taking her children to football and dance competitions, she loves country walks and days at the beach.

Ms Kim Eldridge
Meet Kim Eldridge,
Kim is our most experienced physiotherapist. She graduated from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1985.
Kim is a Chronic Pain Specialist Physiotherapist and Acupuncturist. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in treatment of a wide variety of chronic pain conditions, including neck pain, sciatica, frozen shoulder, lower back, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia as well as many other conditions including hayfever, IBS and migraine.
Kim achieved a post graduate Masters Degree in Acupuncture in 1999. She has worked as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and Acupuncturist treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions in her 40 year career within the NHS and Private Practice. Kim is widely recognised in the physiotherapy profession as an expert in acupunture.
In addition to pursuing her acupuncture knowledge. She has also served on the national board for the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (1999-2008). Kim also trained as an Expert Witness in Physiotherapy and Acupuncture (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy 2003) where she strives to support excellent standards of practice within her profession.
As well as being our acupuncture guru, Kim enjoys working with patients with a range of life-changing injuries and conditions. She uses her extensive knowledge to design specialist rehabilitation programmes for severely injured patients, in order to help then regain the best possible outcome.
Kim is extremely professional and develops a warm trusting relationships with her long term rehabilitation patients.

Ms Sophie Harker
Meet Sophie Harker,
Sophie works for iPS as an Adaptive Strength & Conditioning Specialist and Physiotherapy Assistant. She joined our team in 2019.
She is skilled in carefully guiding patients through comprehensive treatment programmes, designed by a range of specialist physiotherapists. These rehabilitation programmes included sports injury, musculoskeletal, neurological, aquatic physiotherapy and falls rehabilitation.
Sophie works with patients in a range of environments. Her Masters degree level qualifications in Strength & Conditioning, mean that she is very much at home helping our patient with advanced level gym-based rehabilitation. Through extensive training provided by our specialist physiotherapists, she is also competent in assisting with the rehabilitation of our more disabled patients. She has experience using our full range of specialist rehabilitation equipment, including FES, Body weight support systems, Saebo upper limb rehab equipment, and much more. She is also well versed at assisting with our Aquatic Physiotherapy in specialist hydrotherapy pools. She also provides functional support and assistance in people’s own homes, helping individuals gain optimal independence and safety when performing everyday tasks such as dressing and meal preparation.
Sophie’s degree qualification in Physical Education gave her invaluable skills in promotion of fitness, health and wellbeing through exercise. The motivational skills she developed in the sporting world are translated into helping patients achieve their physiotherapy goals. Sophie has warmth enthusiasm and motivation in abundance, and this helps get the very best outcome from her patients. Sophie has a natural ability to engage with people building excellent rapport with clients and their families alike.
Sophie has experience in analysing human movement, having an excellent appreciation of the importance of the fundamentals of movement such as coordination/balance and dual or multi- tasking. She also has a tremendous knowledge of nutrition and weight management, which proves extremely valuable to many of our patients.
Sophie played Hockey for Wales between the ages of 16 and 18, and also played club level rugby in Harrogate for many years. Keeping fit and healthy is very important to Sophie, enjoying many types of physical activity. Sophie enjoys walking her dogs, quad biking and watching all forms of sport.

Mr Jaden Jones
Meet Jaden Jones,
Jaden has worked for iPS as an Adaptive Strength & Conditioning Specialist / Physiotherapy assistant and Sports Massage Therapist since 2021.
Prior to joining iPS in 2021, Jaden completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Strength conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage at Cardiff Met University. During this time Jaden developed an interest in the field of treatment and rehabilitation of people following severe injury and resulting disability. His degree provided him with an excellent grounding in health and fitness, nutrition, sport and exercise science, as well as the prioritised and focused subjects of strength and conditioning, rehabilitation and massage.
Since being offered the opportunity to join our team at iPS, Jaden has shown tremendous enthusiasm throughout our comprehensive Adaptive Strength & Conditioning / Physiotherapy Assistant Training Programme. Jaden has received extensive 1-2-1 training from our most experienced physiotherapists in a wide range of specialist areas including musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, neurological, aquatic Physiotherapy (hydrotherapy), Falls Prevention/Rehabilitation, Domiciliary treatment, Amputee and paediatrics. He has learned to apply his expert knowledge of strength and conditioning to the rehabilitation of patients with a wide range of conditions - including spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, multiple fractures/soft tissue injury, post surgery.
Jaden has excellent massage skills and helps patients recover from a range of injuries and manage aches and pains.
In his spare time, Jaden enjoys a wide range of sports. As a young man, he achieved a Welsh vest in boxing. He currently enjoys keeping himself fit with high intensity gym training. He also enjoys trail running and sea swimming. Jaden has recently developed a passion for travel and is never to far away from his next adventure.

Mrs Lenka Jones
Meet Lenka Jones,
Lenka graduated as a physiotherapist from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 2002.
Lenka is one of our most experienced Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapists. She has extensive knowledge and skills across a range of areas. She worked in the NHS in various senior roles, before joining the IPS in 2009. Her experience in the NHS included working on trauma and orthopaedic wards, MSK out-patients and working alongside orthopaedic consultants in specialist clinics.
Lenka is very experienced in treating sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.
Lenka has continued to treat a wide range of MSK conditions and sports injuries since joining IPS. Lenka has excellent hands-on treatment skills and she also utilises advanced skills such as acupuncture. Lenka has completed recognised Pilates instructor training with the APPI, and utilises these skills in the rehabilitation of her patients.
Lenka specialises in treating patients that have suffered life changing injuries (including amputees, and extensive orthopaedic injury). She spends most of her clinical time in our specialist rehabilitation gyms, helping patient regain their mobility and function. Lenka also undertakes aquatic therapy sessions within our specialist hydrotherapy service.
Lenka is a highly respected and liked member of our physiotherapy team. She is very professional and has an extremely warm and empathetic way with patients.

Mr Grant Reynolds
Meet Grant Reynolds,
Grant qualified as a physiotherapist from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 2005.
Grant spent many years developing his specialist skills in neurological rehabilitation in the NHS before joining iPS in 2020.
Grant specialises in the assessment and treatment of patients with a wide range of neurological conditions including stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s, MS, Muscular dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy (adults).
Always keen to use the newest and most innovative therapies, Grant can often be seen in our specialist gym facilities, adapting and evolving his treatment methods to get his patients to perform to the best of their abilities.
Grant combines his very engaging and friendly personality with a highly professional manner. He often gets his patients working that little bit harder than they were expecting by talking to them about music and his other role as a DJ and director of Boutique Disco.
When Grant isn’t doing one of his 2 busy jobs, he enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends.
He was an international swimmer as a young man and continues his loves of health and fitness in his spare time.

Mr Morgan Smith
Meet Morgan Smith,
Morgan is a very experienced Neurological Rehabilitation Assistant. Prior to joining iPS in 2021, he spent the previous 7 years specialising in the rehabilitation of individuals with Traumatic Brain Injuries. Morgan has a comprehensive knowledge of neurological rehabilitation and exceptional handling skills. He is able to carry out complex rehabilitation programmes set out by our Specialist Neurological Physiotherapists.
Morgan joined iPS because he wanted to have a more varied caseload and expand his knowledge and skills in other areas of physiotherapy rehabilitation. Morgan has acquired an extensive range of competencies through completion of the iPS in-house Physiotherapy Assistant Training Programme, which is taught by our most experienced MSK and Neurological Physiotherapists. He now confidently assists with the rehabilitation of patients with a range of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, as well as his bread and butter neurological rehab work.
Morgan has the skill and experience to work with patients in the setting that is most conducive to their rehabilitation. He is equally comfortable undertaking domiciliary rehabilitation in the patients home (including care homes, nursing homes) as he is in our specialist rehabilitation centres, gyms and hydrotherapy pools. Through his comprehensive training at iPS he can utilise our highly specialist rehab equipment (including FES bike, LiteGait, Saebo Equipment, Active / Passive bike, NuStep etc) as well as the hydrotherapy pool.
Prior to becoming a specialist rehabilitation Assistant Morgan worked as a care assistant for many years.
Morgan has an extremely caring and professional manner. He is highly regarded by his patients and families, as it is clear he will go the extra mile to ensure each individual gets the best care and rehabilitation possible.
Personal Profile: Morgan enjoys a range of sports and has competed as a rugby player and in Judo competitions. He was a semi-professional darts player, travelling around the UK to competing for the county and national team. Currently he enjoys keeping fit in the gym and hill walking with his dog. Mrs Nicola Spickett
Meet Nicola Spickett,
Nicola graduated as a physiotherapist in 2002 from the University of Wales College of Medicine.
Nicola started her career in the NHS in 2002, where she worked in a range of departments before becoming a senior MSK physiotherapist in a busy outpatient department. Part of her role involved working alongside orthopaedic consultants to help rehabilitate patients following complex surgery.
Nicola has worked for iPS since 2009. She enjoys working with patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal / orthopaedic conditions. She is experienced in treating patients who have suffered life-changing injuries and loves the challenge of working with these clients to regain strength, function and confidence. Nicola is also very experienced in treating patients with sports injuries. She has spent many years treating weekend warriors and elite athletes across a range of sports. Nicola has an in-depth knowledge of netball injuries and particularly enjoys designing and guiding rehab programmes to get players back on court.
Nicola has worked as a First Contact Practitioner in GP surgeries. This involved her triaging patients, organising onward referrals, requesting further investigations and liaising with GPs regarding medications. The experience gained has enabled her to build strong working relationships with the local GPs.
Nicola has a wide range of treatment skills at her disposal. She is an APPI-Trained Pilates Instructor. She has a real passion for Pilates and how this can be incorporated into rehabilitation programmes to help reduce pain and improve function. She is a qualified acupuncturist and has excellent knowledge of strength and conditioning, which she utilises daily to rehabilitate patients who have suffered life-changing injuries.
Nicola is a bubbly enthusiastic physiotherapist who has a real empathy with her patients and knows how to achieve the best for her patients and always gives her all to help them on their rehabilitation journey. She is open and honest and always approachable to her patients. She is relaxed and caring always wants what is best for them and will go the extra mile to achieve this.
Nicola is always on the go. She loves nothing better than spending time with her family. When she isn’t watching her children play sport, she is either coaching local netball teams or watching her beloved Cardiff City FC. In recent years she has overcome her fear of water and now enjoys regular sea swimming.
